Plain English. Children's photographs are the part that matters most.
Effective May 27, 2026
This is the privacy policy for the Lykkehaven Early Learning website and the school itself. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, write to us at info@lykkehaven.com and we will explain it.
What we collect
When you send an inquiry through the form on this site, we collect the information you give us. That includes your first and last name, your email address, your phone number if you provide one, your child's first name if you provide it, your child's age in September 2026, your written message to us, and where you heard about us.
Our web server also keeps basic logs of requests. That is standard for any website. The logs include IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and the user agent string from your browser. We use these logs only to keep the site working and to spot abuse. They are not used for advertising and they are not shared.
What we never do
We do not sell your data to anyone, ever, for any reason.
We do not run advertising on this site, and we do not embed any tracker that profiles you across the rest of the internet. There are no Facebook pixels, no Google ads tags, no remarketing scripts. None.
We do not advertise to children. We do not have child-facing accounts. The website is written for adults reading on behalf of children.
A note about children's data
We do not knowingly collect data directly from children under thirteen through this website. The inquiry form is intended to be filled out by a parent or guardian. If a child's first name is included on a form, it is because a parent or guardian provided it, and we treat that information with the same care we give the rest of the inquiry. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has submitted information on this site without your knowledge, write to info@lykkehaven.com and we will delete it. This approach is aligned with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, known as COPPA.
Once a child is enrolled, the school holds a separate set of records under the requirements of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. Enrolment data is governed by a separate enrolment agreement, not by this website privacy policy.
Photography and the children
This is the part of the policy that matters most.
We do not put children's faces on the website. We do not post pictures of children's faces on social media. When the school does share photographs, faces are obscured. A boot in the mud. A hand on a fence post. The back of a head against a window. Real images of the actual school, with the children themselves kept private.
Inside the building, parents may not photograph other people's children. A parent dropping off in the morning, snapping a picture of their own child, is welcome, but the picture must not include other children. We will ask parents to delete any photograph of another child taken in the building.
The school maintains a no-phone-camera policy in the indoor space during operating hours. Adults may use phones for messages and calls, but not for photographing or recording other people's children. This is a hard rule and we will enforce it.
If the school takes photographs for any purpose, including grant applications or marketing, we use written photo consent from parents and we keep faces obscured by default. If a parent later changes their mind about consent, we honor that and remove any images of their child.
Cookies and analytics
We use no third-party analytics that profile visitors. No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Heap. The site uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep the form working and to manage page state. Nothing tracking, nothing advertising.
If the school later adds a privacy-preserving analytics tool, we will name it on this page and explain what it does, before it goes live.
Your right to see, correct, or delete your data
If you have sent us an inquiry, you can email info@lykkehaven.com and ask for a copy of what we have on file. You can ask us to correct it. You can ask us to delete it. We will do so within a reasonable period, typically two working days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it, we will update the effective date at the top and post a note on the site for thirty days. We will not change the rules that protect children's photographs. Those are not negotiable.
Questions about any of this go to info@lykkehaven.com.
